Hundred Acre BarnHundred Acre Barn is a converted flint barn in the village of Compton, close to the South Downs Way, within the National Park,and close to the Goodwood Estate.. The accommodation comprises twins and doubles en suite with flat screen TV and Tea/Coffee making facilities. Hundred Acre Barn is ideally positioned for walking, being close to the South Downs Way , and many superb circular tours can be made directly from the cottage, most of which can be planned to incorporate a country pub or two. The village itself has a pub, 'The Coach and Horses' which has an excellent selection of real ales and serves some of the best food in the county. Compton is well positioned for events at Goodwood which is about fifteen minutes away, and is also well positioned for Chichester Festival Theatre, Midhurst,Petworth and Arundel. In the Summer the 'Festival of Speed' is a notable feature of the Goodwood calendar,and later in the year the 'Goodwood Revival Meeting' is a spectacular event featuring classic cars racing on the old motor racing circuit which was created out of the tracks and run-ways of the famous Goodwood air field. A feature of the 'Goodwood Revival Meeting' is the period costume which is encouraged and the fantastic flying displays of Spitfires, Hurricanes, Messerschmittts, Mustangs and other famous aircraft of the Second World War. Goodwood is of course also famous as one of the most beautiful of English horse racing courses.
