Compton Cross Country Course
Compton Cross Country Course & Show Jumps is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty in the heart of the South Downs on the West Sussex - Hampshire border, approximately half way between Petersfield and Chichester. It has spectacular views South over the Solent and Isle of Wight and Northwards over the crest of the South Downs.
The main course is 6 miles long and covers undulating hillside with several sections offering riders the opportunity for long canters and gallops. There is also a shorter schooling course of 1½ miles. Together they offer a wide variety of 75 optional jumps which range in size from approximately 1’9” to 3’6”. The courses are open throughout the year as the chalky soil means that ground conditions are generally good in all weathers.
